DUBAI: A Pakistani taxi driver in Dubai has been officially recognised for his outstanding display of hospitality towards a Chinese tourist.
The act, which quickly went viral on social media, has been widely lauded for reflecting the Emirate’s inclusive and multicultural spirit.
Falak Niaz Lajbar Khan, a driver with Kabi Taxi, was commended for warmly greeting and assisting Yuan Jing, a tourist from the Republic of China, in her native language. The gesture struck a chord with viewers online and drew praise from both the public and officials.
The recognition was presented by Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in an official ceremony.

Al Tayer awarded Khan a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the RTA, highlighting the importance of cultural sensitivity and respect in enhancing Dubai’s global reputation as a welcoming destination.
